Softbank CEO Says iPhone 3G To Sell Out In Japan Within Hours Of Launch
According to these squiggly lines, Masayosi Son, CEO and founder of Softbank, stated at the company’s 24th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held in Tokyo recently that he believed that Softbank would sell out of iPhone 3G units within hours of it’s launch in Japan, despite it’s US$214 and $316 price.
Now, keep in mind, I’m pretty rusty on my squiggly lines, and it’s not uncommon for things to get lost in translation between Japanese and English, but he was probably expressing his enthusiasm. The question is, will they really sell out so fast, in Japan or elsewhere, and what will that mean for those of us who want one? Comments welcome.
