Run Multiple Apps Simultaneously with Jailbreak Tweak
Writer Michael DeLisi and I have spent the last weeks questioning the availability of the ability to somehow run multiple applications at one time on the iPad. While it would increase the functionality of your iPad, it would also be an awesome step in furthering the potential of tablets. The ability to do so is now here in the form of a respectable jailbreak tweak.
How awesome would it be to be playing a game while simultaneously also using iMessage to chat with friends? Without a doubt, it would be incredible.
Quasar, a new jailbreak tweak, allows you to run multiple applications at the same time on your iPad. Though two apps seems to be optimal, more can be handled.
The developer states that the tweak is essentially like Window’s form of multitasking – it allows you to move, resize and minimize apps (in this case). It’s also integrated with Notification Center, meaning launching apps from the new feature made available with iOS 5 will open a new window.
Killing applications is similar to the multitasking bar that is otherwise accessible by pressing the home button twice. You simply have to hold the app’s icon down to end the process.

You can check out Quasar in Cydia for $9.99. Users have reported that the tweak is a bit buggy, but it’s reliable for the most part.
There isn’t a jailbreak for the new iPad yet, but you can check out the tweak with your iPad 2. Let us know how you like it in the comments section below.
