Rumor: New iPhone July 17th; OLED, Doubled Storage & Battery Capacity
Submitted by Edward Kirk on May 19, 2009 - 2:58pm.

iPhone rumor site Apple iPhone Apps is claiming to have information that a new iPhone will be launched on July 17. They also posted several unreleased specifications, including storage capacity increases, higher camera quality, better battery life, an OLED screen, and minor alterations of the physical appearance.
- 32GB and 16GB storage (up from the current 16GB and 8GB models)
- $199 and $299 price points to be maintained
- 3.2-megapixel camera (up from the current 2-megapixel camera)
- Video-recording and editing capabilities
- Ability to send a picture & video via MMS
- Discontinuation of the metal band surrounding the edge of the device
- OLED screen
- 1.5 times the battery life of the current models
- Double the RAM and processing power
- Built-in FM transmitter
- Apple logo on back will glow
- Rubber-tread backing
- Sleeker design
- Built-in compass
- The camera, GPS, compass and Google map combined will identify photo and inform about photo locations
- Turn-by-turn directions
While some of these are plausible, some of them like the OLED screen, increased battery power and doubled storage capacity are pretty unlikely.

not too bad
Ability to send a picture & video via MMS? (3.0 i belive is dooing this on its own).
knowing apple, it will have a larger hard drive and come in red or something and thats it. lol..
Anyways, that would be awesome if all of this (except the glowing apple...WTF? XD) were true, but the glowing apple kinda just ruined the validity of this source.
Glowing Apple

On the other hand - OLED screens are not the mystical creatures of the future they once were. There are plenty of small-screen devices using them already and if anyone's going to bring them to the mass market, it'll be Apple. I wouldn't write this particular rumour off just yet.
