Photos Of Next Generation iPhone Leaked?
Leaked images of what is said to be the back of the next iPhone are circulating the web. Our friends over at the iPod Observer have posted a close-up of the back of an unreleased 16GB iPhone. It’s a black matte color and shows Model No: A1303, a model number not listed on current iPhones.
Additional images have also been posted by MacRumors showing the entire back case and it’s interior:
Unlike the current iPhone 3G’s glossy plastic back, the shell shown in the photos has a matte black finish, something MacRumors says was added to make it less slippery and easier to grip.
The iPod Observer also concluded that since the text was too shiny to be applied with the same dull grey ink as on the iPhone 3G, the case may be made of metal like the original iPhone, with the text etched into it. While it’s difficult to tell, the interior photo posted my MacRumors makes us think that it is still molded plastic:
The images are said to have come from China (where Apple’s products are manufactured and assembled).
Some may remember that the iPod Observer posted an image of the iPhone 3G last April before it was officially announced. Although they are confident about the photograph’s authenticity, they note that, as with all allegedly leaked images, it should be taken “with an appropriately dosed grain of salt”.
