Official 1.1.2 Jailbreak Released

in

If you've been itching to get your hands on a jailbroken iPhone running update v1.1.2, itch no longer! The talented folks at Conceited software have released their jailbreak solution for all to enjoy. The method works similarly to our early jailbreak. According to the instructions, your iPhone must be running version 1.1.1 in order to function properly. The entire process takes around ten minutes to complete. Once finished, you'll have a freshly jailbroken iPhone running the latest software and Installer.app.

As easy as this method is, it doesn't compare to jailbreakme.com. Conceited's zip file, two iPhone update packages, and a legitimate iPhone contract are required for this method to work.

All the boring instructional stuff is contained within the zip from Conceited, so we won't bother telling you here. This works for both Windows and Mac. Enjoy!

What i found you have to do is click on "jailbreak.jar" That is the file you want, not osx. On my computer that brought up the jailbreak window. Enjoy!

Cannot unzip the 1.1.2-jailbreak.zip archive. Keep getting an Error 1-Operation not permitted. Any ideas?

this worked for me i would redownload and try again instead of opening up the osx open up the jailbreak.jar or w/e that is

Does the conceited software jailbreak for 1.1.2 really need a legit contract for it to work? Can anyone who's done it and using is using a carrier other than ATT let me know if it works? Thanks!

Jailbreak 1.1.2 phone

I have already updated to 1.1.2, Not by choice it did it automatically on last Thursday evening, when I tried to upgrade to 1.1.1 before the supposed Friday update. Anyway does this mean that your method won't work on my phone. " According to the instructions, your iPhone must be running version 1.1.1 in order to function properly.".

Jailbreaking does not unlock a phone. It allows you to add software and change preferences that are otherwise unavailable.

Fails on PowerPC Macs :-(

Why can't they make this Universal!?

1.1.2 Jailbreak problem solved

OK, I could not get the download to work. That resolved itself.

Next, I could not get the JAR to run. Then, I installed libreadline and it worked. Here are the directions from TUAW.com.

Update: If you're missing the readline library (i.e. iPhuc doesn't work for you), you can download it here. Extract the zip to your Desktop, then in Terminal, type "sudo cp ~/Desktop/opt/local/lib/libreadline.5.2.dylib /opt/local/lib". You may need to sudo mkdir the /opt/local/lib folder first.

Update: Intel Only. (Thanks SmileyDude)

I already have 1.1.2, where do I find 1.1.1 so I can install the jailbreak software?
