Obama To Get iPhone Game [Edited]

It looks like it wasn't enough that US President-Elect Barack Obama was the first candidate to get his own iPhone app. Sure, that may have been enough while he was just a candidate, but now that he's won the election he'll be getting his own interactive iPhone game, too.

Sad Ninja's Rock Obama is an iPhone game centered around Obama trying to drum up support at one of his rallies by... dancing. The aim of the game is to move him back and forth across the screen using the accelerometer to hit the podiums that pop up from the floor.

The new game was created to promote Sad Ninja's new comedy web-film, Rock Obama: The Barack Obama Musical. The app is due to be submitted "shortly".

Edit: I'd like to remind our readers that this post was not intended to be a sign of political affiliation with Barack Obama, his campaign, or his political ideals in any way. Our intent was to highlight the effect of current events in popular culture on iPhone games. We apologize if it appeared otherwise.

wow, I bet there will actually be sales taxes on this game and they will be extremely high.

Not so much

He is only going to increase taxes on those making more than 250k a year, everyone else will get a tax cut. If you think otherwise than you haven't been listening to anything other than Bush/Rove/McCain politics.

Too bad...

it's not an old white dude in a walker his puppet hottie librarian helping him or it could be called "That darn loud Rock'n'Roll McCain"!

Another possibility is simply not believing everything that was said on the campaign trail. No need to broadbrush and attempt to equivocate people that have a different opinion.

Was so hoping that iPhoneAlley could be a politics neutral site to visit

Okay, watched the video of the "game". All politics aside, it looks extremely stupid. Seems like maybe the game was made with the sole purpose of selling units based on an Obama presidential win.

Sorry about the timing, Stephen007. Our intention has always been to remain politics-neutral, but I can see where your coming from with this one. Agreed, it looks stupid, but it is relevant to current pop culture in the US, and I thought some would at least find it comical if nothing else.

It could have been worse!

I was expecting a shooting game!!

My apologies. I should have explained that my comments were directed at those who had made comments regarding the amount of sales tax to be charged on the app and the "old white dude in a walker". Seemed like none of the comments dealt with the actual story about the game.

I agree that the news post is topical (although the game still is stupid ;-)

Meh - Boring

At least use photo shop to get his actual face on the figure.

Hmm, well...let's see. Obama originally stated that it the cut off would be 250K. Then he actually said 200K. Then the next day it was back to 250K. Then Biden actually said 150K in an interview on TV. Then Governor Richardson said it would be 120K. Then in Obama's infomercial he actually said it would be 200K. So, which is it? This figure changed this many times within a 2 week span.

Also, reminder that Obama's historical vote even showed that he voted to raise taxes on people making just 42K/year. Factcheck.org even verified this to be true. see here and here. Another historical reference is Clinton's same promise to only raise taxes on those making above a certain income level but we actually ended up with the highest tax increase in our nation's history.

Also, Obama's promise to let the Bush tax cuts expire is a tax increase for anyone paying into the tax system. This is just common sense.

With the exception of J.F.K., I have never really known of any democrat to actually cut taxes. I don't know why they don't just run on that platform instead of merely trying to pretend to be conservative. I guess they think they can't actually win an election if they show who they really are, tax and spend liberals. Time and time again we see Democrats pretending to be conservatives during an election but to only show their true colors when they actually get into office.

This nation wasn't founded on the principle that it's patriotic to pay more taxes. The Boston Tea Party was an act of rebellion against the British government over being forced to pay higher taxes. Are we now going to say that anyone involved in the revolutionary war, which was in large part a response to taxation without representation, were not patriotic? Of coarse not.

Obama won the election and I congratulate him on a very well run campaign but his socialist ideology scares me.

Don't be rude, that's for fun!
