O2 to Drop Eight Gigabyte iPhone Price by £100
In a move that confirmed a variety of rumors wireless carrier O2 will partake in the price war between itself and carrier T-Mobile. The company will be cutting £100 off the price of the eight gigabyte iPhone in the UK, thereby reducing the price to £169.
On a note that may make many users happy, the discount will apply to the handset regardless of which contract the subscriber purchases, whereas T-Mobile's discount applies only to its Complete XL plan. Unfortunately, the sticker only applies to the eight gigabyte model while the 16 gigabyte model retains its £329 price tag. Still, anyone who purchased one of the iPhone's former iterations from the past month will receive a £100 "Ultimate Price Promise" refund voucher.
The offer is set to expire in June when new iPhone models are expected to debut.
