O2 & Carphone Warehouse: More 16GB iPhones To Come

in

Despite a shortage of both 8GB and 16GB iPhones, both Carphone Warehouse and O2 have said today that they will continue to offer the 16GB model. Recently iPhones of the 8GB variety have been in short supply in the UK, which raised suspicion that O2 and CW were clearing the shelves for a new iPhone. Earlier today, O2 posted a message to its iPhone site which said "iPhone no longer available" and furthered speculation that a new iPhone was imminent.

Currently Carphone Warehouse is reviewing the 16GB iPhone stock situation and says that more are already available at its various retail locations. O2 has also said that some of its stores already have the 16GB model in stock. Both the 16GB and 8GB models are available from Apple's UK online store and ship in 24 hours.

We don't really care however the lack of availability of the iPhone at stores could indicate an imminent 3G iPhone release.
