O2 Adds SIM Application Menu To iPhone

in

A new rumor has emerged on the iPhone awaiting release in Europe. Rumor has it that the iPhone will be more different from the US one than we might suspect. For one, O2 has added some subtile user interface changes, including the addition of a "SIM applications" menu. Also, the rumor confirms that the new firmware v1.1.2 does indeed brick unlocked iPhones.

If the software update for current iPhones doesn't brick them, then at the very least it will certainly break all current unlocking and jailbreaking software. Further more, if the update will brick certain phones, there is question as to whether Apple will issue another warning.

Still, it's likely that Apple will encounter less resistance while in the UK now that they have announced that iPhone SDK. It seemed out of place when he first announced it four months in advance, but with the Europe launch on it's way, it now is obvious.

what?

add "sim applications"?

my unlocked 1.11 already has sim applications in the settings->phone section.

how does a rumor confirm something?

Sim

The SIM-application menu is on the SIM itself. GSM has had that for years. It basically listst network-specific numbers for changing voicemail settings, customer-service, etc.

We can use Sim Application even in 1.02. Just depend on your Sim Card.

Congratulations!

useless article.

A rumour has no basis in fact so why is iPhone Alley linking to a rumour post? This isn't real news so it shouldn't be posted as if it were news.
