Next Generation Devices Without A Home Button? iOS 4.3 Says So

As many of you may have heard or seen, iOS 4.3 was released to developers yesterday in the beta form which means that it won’t be out for some time to the public. With the release, people have noticed changes that lead them to believe that next generation iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches won’t included the home button features. It seems Apple wants these devices to be more touch compatible.

With the seeded 4.3, there were a few changes with the following being the most noticeable:

-Instead of using the home-button to exit an application and return to the home screen, you pinch the screen with four or five fingers.

-To access the multitasking bar, instead of doubling clicking the home button, you swipe up on the screen. with four or five fingers.

-To switch between apps, you swipe left and right on the screen with four or five fingers.

I haven’t gotten to see these changes in effect, but they do sound pretty cool. How well will these controls work? Only time will tell.

iOS 4.3 New Features

-Airplay support for third party applications
-New multi-touch features as explained above
-A mobile hotspot feature for the GSM iPhones
-A new FaceTime icon
-A new feature called “Find my Friends”
