New Mac App Tracks Your App Store Spending

With so many apps today at affordable prices, it’s easy to lose track of how much you spend on them after a while (which is undoubtedly the way Apple wants it). Now a tool has been released for the Mac that will tell you just how much money you have invested in software on your iPhone. Fittingly dubbed the App Store Expense Monitor, it scans all the apps you have in iTunes, checks their prices in the App Store, and calculates a total.

It’s not a perfect method; it has no way of factoring if you purchased any apps that were once on sale but no longer are. In that sense, the number it calculates might more accurately be described as the total current value of all your apps, but it’s good for a rough estimate. If you’ve had an iPhone or iPod touch for a long time, then you may be in for a surprise. You can download the App Store Expense Monitor for free (donations appreciated) at wetfish.de.
