New iOS 6 Feature – Banner for Newly Downloaded Apps

The situation when you download an app from the App Store, and in the time that it’s installing, you completely forget all about it. Raise your hand if that’s happened to you at one point or another (the nimble-minded folks raise their hands). I thought so.

Thankfully, what we’ve described in minor detail above will no longer happen as often. If your affirmatively raised your hand before, then this new minute addition to be introduced with iOS 6 should be your slice of cake.

While Apple’s WWDC keynote on Monday focused mainly on new features, iOS 6 has also had many visual changes that have taken place. Thus, when you download an app from the App Store, a subtle but noticeable banner drapes diagonally across the app’s icon.

This new embellishment has been incorporated to differentiate the new from the old and will disappear after opening the app for the first time.
