New iFuntastic Supports iTunes 7.4, Gains Sophistication

Is there an iFuntastic dance? If there is, it's time to do it. bitSplit has been hard at work refining iFuntastic to make it even more useful. The first new feature is compatibility with iTunes 7.4, which I know most of you have been waiting for. There have also been updates to the way you install iFuntastic support files as well as added ringtone compatibility.

The first thing you'll likely notice about iFuntastic is that it's been cleaned up quite a bit. The Welcome and Setup pages are both significantly easier to understand. From the Setup page, you're able to restore your phone, unshackle it, and install the iFuntastic support. Yes, that's right - iFuntastic support files are optional this time around. This means that if you don't like all those crazy applications and pages floating around on your iPhone, you don't need them. You can also remove the support files if you grow tired of them.

Ringtones is now more powerful than before. In iTunes 7.4, Apple added the ringtones menu for really simple ringtone syncing, but for a price. iFuntastic now has the ability to add ringtones to your iTunes library using any audio file. Simply drop your audio (right from iTunes even) into the iFuntastic Ringtones panel and it's automatically converted and added. Simple!

File Manager has also seen some minor tweaks and added abilities. The best, in my opinion, is the ability to stop audio (thank goodness!). Great for all those ringtones.

Requirements:

An iPhone would help greatly :-)
iFuntastic has not been tested with the iPod touch, so it is considered unsupported at this point.

A PowerPC or Intel Macintosh Computer.

OS X "Tiger", Version 10.4.10 or higher.

If you can 'sync' and 'restore' your iPhone with iTunes on your computer, then you should be able to enjoy iFuntastic!

iFuntastic now works with - but also requires - iTunes 7.4 and the latest System Software Update.

Is it possible to use iFuntastic before the AT&T activation? I just bought an iPhone in Sweden, i updated the firmware to 1.0.2 via iTunes when it asked me to but other than that i havent done anything.. thanks in advance!

I loved this software when it first came out, but I think it's no longer relevant. Installer and a ringtone program is all you need now. If you use this program to jailbrake your i-phone, then you are almost certain to get bricked the next time you DL an i-phone software update.

If that's all you want to hear, then go to your system settings, then go to sounds, then click to turn off alerts for everything but mail and text. Simple.

Change System Sounds

- go to the File manager page
- select 'System Sounds' from the path drop down menu

- click on the popup next to the sound and select 'Replace With...'
- select a .aif sound file (some samples are provided)
or
- drag a .aif sound file onto the sound you want to replace

You should be able to use it without an AT&T account, but the phone needs to actually work

Install NES.app
- drag it into the Application List on the Home Screen page (iFuntastic Support must be installed for it to become 'runnable'; but you don't need to have changed the Home Screen); refresh the application list to have it show up; if you *are* using customized Home Screens, then place NES.app where you want it and update the Home Screens.
or
- install it by some other means

- get yourself some NES ROMs. One place where they can be found is:

- unzip the file(s)
- go to the File Manager page, select 'NES ROMs' from the path drop down menu
- drag the .nes file(s) into the list

You certainly are a windoze user, duh. Do some search, try 'iphone hacks', or something equally difficult. You will find that there are more windoze hacks available, than for a Mac PPC box! Macintel boxes have the most hacks available, but windoze has plenty available. Think about it... Windoze-hacks, they've been together since day one!

We do, as "Windoze Geeks," indeed have a multitude of hacks available, but for "mere mortals" like myself who don't even know where to start on most of their applications, this program seems to be ideal. Though the things people can pull off now-a-days are incredible, it's more than clear that the people who generated iFuntastic care about everyone's enjoyment of the program, thus the facility in its use. I know that they work harder than most; enough to be included in G4TV's "The Feed," so I would personally be overjoyed if a "Windoze" version was released.

My ultimate request would be iFuntastic's Windows XP support.

Thanks for the great program, and thanks [SO MUCH] for making it free, but I think I'd be able to appreciate it more if I could actually use it.

It can be easily ported as the api being used is cross-platform. It's just a matter of time, I guess

We really have no way of knowing. Thanks to Apple's secrecy, we'll have to take it one step at a time. Nice thought, huh?

Change the voice mail alert sound

Using Customize app (installed from Installer) can change all the sound alerts. You can also download sound packages from installer app to vary your options.

i've been trying to use the new ifuntastic (i loved the old one), but every time i hit unshackle, the apptapp starts up and then my phone displays the itunes icon with a cord pointing to it. then it says this may take a few minutes please be patient, and nothing happens. should i just keep waiting? i really want my own rintones again, they disappeared after i installed the new iphone software (firmware? whichever it is). can someone help me?

why is everyone asking down fucking ifuntastic work with the new upgrade whats the bid deal, just downgrade assholes, if you bought a phone from apple and it came with 1.1.1 and you want to use, 3rd party firmware just download..nothing is going to happen dicks, if you download to 1.0.2 you can do all the shit you wan to it, and still be able to upgrade back to your preciious 1.1.1, damn, all this shit about jailbrake for 1.1.1 for nothing, I only feel for you if you unlocked you phone then you upgraded like my dumb ass self did and now your with out a phone, I fucking hate ANYSIM then you should worry other than that, just fucking downgrade so what you loose your precisious itunes on the iphone if you buy shit from itunes then your the biggest ASS IN here...
