Leopard Stacks On The iPhone

in

Can't wait until the 26th for Apple's Mac OS X Leopard launch to get your hands on those handy stacks? Now you don't have to. Sorry, we can't make Leopard come any faster, but you can put it on your iPhone instead. That's right, hacker psychochromatic made a Stacks hack for the iPhone, and it's awesome.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, a Stack (at least in Mac OS terms) is a group of files or, especially in the case of the iPhone, applications, that fan out when you tap it. In the upcoming Leopard OS later this week, stacks are found in the form of sort of a folder in the dock next to all of the application icons and minimized windows to help keep your work area clutter-free. On the iPhone, it can be an elegant solution for a workspace with very limited real estate.

Currently it's still in it's hack stages, so don't try this one unless you really know what you're doing and are confident about hacking your iPhone. You can view the instructions on how to do the install here.

This is a great start and a great way to show the things developers can do with this phone.
