Jailbreak Only: Music Widget for Homescreen & Notification Center

Jukebox is a new jailbreak tweak designed to allow for easier music management while rocking out to your most favorite tunes. With optimal functionality, the tweak adds a minimal, yet useful, widget to both your homescreen as well as Notification Center.

The tweak’s flexibility is reflective of its availability on both your homescreen as well as iOS 5′s most prominent addition, Notification Center. In its current state, the widget only supports the stock music application, but the developer is hard at work to expand its compatibility to support third-party apps such as Pandora and Spotify.

After Apple removed the music controller that was associated with a double click of the home button to be replaced by the multitasking bar, there hasn’t been a concrete way of controlling the music app. Thus, Jukebox is the ultimate jailbreak tweak. In its natural form, the widget doesn’t draw much attention. Upon tapping on it, though, a whole array of controls pops up including the ability to switch tracks, pause/play music, shuffle and it even allows you to access the music app.

iDownloadBlog’s hands-on:

Jukebox is currently available on Cydia under ModMyi’s repo for a meager $0.99 considering it’s compatible with both iPhone and iPad. It’s tweaks like this that warrant jailbreaking your iOS device, and I’m looking forward to future builds of Jukebox.
