iPhone Update 1.1.3 Confirmed Authentic, Video

in

Gizmodo has posted a purportedly authentic video showing some of the alleged 1.1.3 features in action. Natetrue (from iBrickr) supplied Gizmodo with the video, and also gave them quite a bit of new information. According to Nate, the update breaks AnySIM, and AnySIM can not be reinstalled after the update has taken effect. All installed apps are removed, and the current method for jailbreaking has been patched.

It breaks AnySim's unlock and you can't unlock this update using AnySim and activation only works if you do it through iTunes using a regular AT&T account, as he pointed out: "that is the only way we have been able to activate so far." Nate tried to upgrade an AnySim 1.2u iPhone and it failed. Even while he was able to force it to boot, the phone refused to activate even with a normal AT&T SIM card. "I suspect it's due to the fact that the baseband could not be upgraded to the 1.1.3 'required' version", he pointed out.

The list of new features (ability to send multiple SMS messages, hybrid view and cell tower triangulation for Google Maps, dragging and dropping of apps and pagination on the home screen, and the addition of bookmarks to the home screen) has been confirmed. He is not sure how the update got out, though believes someone wanted to assist in the unlocking effort and leaked it. It appears to be in its final stages and could be sent out any day now.

Oddly, where the carrier logo is generally located one can read NATE, a modification in current jailbroken iPhones.

so have people begun trying to hack it
hopefully we will get a new hack update like we did with 1.1.2 b4 it actually comes out

I'm calling BS. According to Nate True, the person Gizmodo is basing the legitimacy off of, this new firmware cannot be jailbroken. Why, then, is his name up in the top as Jordan has said. Furthermore, I really don't understand why Apple would allow us to move our icons around. Sure it's cool, but this is Apple. They don't like customizations.
