It's not set in stone, but there's some strong evidence pointing to a given day. The guys at Simon.co.za have confirmed that Apple's iPhone will be launched in South Africa on July 20th. The handset will be sold by Vodacom, in which international carrier Vodafone is a majority shareholder.
In May, Vodafone announced plans to launch the iPhone in 10 new countries, including South Africa amongst the likes of Italy, Portugal, Greece and India.
In the meantime, Australia is expected to receive the iPhone from Vodafone on June 29th. The handset is expected to feature 3G networking technologies, which may be detailed at today's Worldwide Developers Conference keynote in San Francisco.
