iPhone Browser Share Rises 36% Over Holiday Season
As we already know, the iPhone (and the iPod Touch even more so) were popular gifts this holiday season, causing a large influx of App Store sales and browsing. Likewise, Christmas day and the days following have seen a significant increase web browser market share for Mobile Safari.
During the week of Christmas, iPhone browser share reportedly rose 35.7% higher than the previous week, reaching 0.57% of all web browser use. That’s a full 50% higher than the average for November.
The sudden increase is being attributed to the most obvious factor; holiday gift-giving.
