iPhone Alley App of the Day – June 14, 2012
Although our staff here at iPhone Alley doesn’t get to review every single worthwhile application that undoubtedly bombard the App Store each and everyday, we keep an eye out for those that promise potential. Our limited number of reviews isn’t reflective of our eyes that are constantly searching the broad confines of the App Store. Below is our pick for today’s best application.
And our app of the day is…
Temple Run: Brave ($0.99)
Without a doubt you’ve heard about the predecessor to today’s App of the Day regardless of whether you own an iOS device or not. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if you have already heard about Temple Run: Brave considering it’s at the top of the App Store not even 24 hours after its release. A spinoff of Imangi’s previous hit title, Temple Run, Temple Run: Brave is the product of a partnership between said developer and Disney.
Designed to be a promotional product of Disney’s new movie, Brave, the new title puts you in control of Merida, the heroine of the title. You’ll run down a familiar narrow path with the same control gestures as before: tilt to move right and left, swipe up to jump, swipe down to slide, and swipe left and right to turn to the respective direction. These all have been transferred to a new environment populated with grass, trees, exotic plants and more.
The game also introduces a new archery option to earn more coins, which can be spent in a store filled with the usual goodies you’ve grown accustomed to.
Remember to tune in for our next app of the day feature!
