iPhone 5 Rumors

OK everyone, I’ve found the iPhone 5!  Forget the rumors, I’ve found it!

Unfortunately, I’m kidding.  The rumor mills never end when it comes to new Apple products and the rumors are running for the new iPhone, as well as the new iPad.

So on this Friday, let’s take a look at the most popular rumors running around.

One of the most common rumors I’ve seen is a bigger screen.  The screen on the iPhone 4 right now is 3.5 inches.  Most smartphones these days have at least a 4 inch screen.  Another rumor that’s been going around is the possibility of three different iPhones: one with keyboard, bigger screen and a nano version.  I don’t know how I feel about the keyboard version.  Sometimes I miss feeling the keys but at the same time I love my touch screen.

Another rumor is no home button.  With a bigger screen it would make sense to not have a home button because proportionally the phone wouldn’t work unless it was huge.  Without a home button, would there be a dock at the bottom like some Android and Windows phones where it’s all still touch but certain places turn the phone on?  Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Apple will probably update their A4 processor as well.  Most people are saying they will update it to a dual-core processor to compete with the Androids.  I don’t know how the phone can get much faster but I’m sure Apple will surprise me again.

Here’s one idea that could potentially change things drastically again: Near-Field Communication technology.  This would allow your phone to pretty much be your wallet or credit card.  You would be able to pay for goods ans services simply by waving your phone near the credit card terminal.  Definitely would be nice at times when you forget your wallet!

Apple will probably update the camera as well, I’ve seen up to an 8 megapixel camera and 1080p for video.  The iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera and 720p video.

Two things I haven’t seen that I’d love to see is a longer battery life (possibly a removable battery?) and Flash capabilities.  There are so many videos I would love to watch that I can’t because they are flash videos instead of QuickTime.

We can only speculate for now but June will be here before we know it and then the iPhone 6 talks will begin!
