iPhone 3G Unboxing Photos

The first iPhone 3G unboxing photos have been taken and posted to the iPhonePortugal forums. This specific iPhone seems to be a demo unit for use in retail stores. From the photos you can see a few changes. The clear plastic tray which holds the device has been replaced with a biodegradable black tray and the dock is now missing from the mix. The user notes that the Internet speed is very good and that the App Store does not currently work. Hit the jump to see the photos, including one of the fabled "sim ejector tool".

I looked at the sim ejector tool. Who does Apple think they're kidding? It's effectively the same as a paper clip. Come on. Who thought including that was a good idea?

I like that they added the 3G logo to the menu bar at the top so that you can tell if you're on 2G or 3G.

Looks both gorgeous and smudgetastic. I'm hoping the white model with an invisible shield won't make smudges as obvious. I'm excited though.

By the way, this guy claims to have gotten the phone without paying for it but refuses to say where it came from. Look for his obituary in tomorrow's paper.

The new look is looking nicer and nicer. I really liked the original iPhone's design, but I think I'm loving this one! Would it be too hard for somebody to take a video of the iPhone 3G?

Cool video! I am absolutely stunned at how deceiving the new phone looks. If I didn't know better I would swear that the new one was thinner. Good call Ives!

It definitely looks thinner without the first iPhone next to it, but it looks a little thinner if you compare it from where the dock connector is. Still don't like the black back, Superman? I think it's looking better and better with every picture and video!

I have to admit, the black back is growing on me, but I have yet to see the white one. When it all comes down to it, I'm sure my in-person inspection will be the deciding factor. Enough people are giving me crap about it being girly that I am slowly leaning towards black but as of right now, white is still winning out.

I guess I might be the only "girly" man left considering the white one huh? I'm with you though, it will defenitly come down to seeing it in person to help make a final decision.

theres nothing girls about a white iphone. my only qualm about getting one would be that it may get dirty faster, kind of like the white apple mice get some stuff on them after use. im lovin the "official" sim car removal tool. lol. its basically just a paper clip.
