iPhone 3G Sold Out In 21 States
With iPhones in as high a demand as ever, it’s not surprising that AT&T and Apple stores in the US are in extremely short supply of iPhone 3Gs. As of 6AM Eastern Time today, both 8 and 16GB models are listed as being unavailable in all Apple Stores of 21 States: Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
Nationwide, about 117 of the 188 Apple Stores across the US were reporting selling out completely, whereas only about 27 say they have all three models in stock.
Apple is telling customers looking to get an iPhone 3G to check the availability at stores after 9PM local time, to make sure that any shipments intended for the next day have already arrived using their iPhone Availability page. If they do, then they suggest getting to the store as soon as possible.
AT&T stores are in even shorter supply, saying that their stores were “virtually” sold out by the end of Friday, and doesn’t know when they will receive new packages.
