iPad Promo Materials Show It Running Flash

I think most people probably weren’t too surprised to see broken Flash elements in the websites Steve Jobs browsed to during the iPad keynote. It makes sense when you consider that the iPad is running what is essentially the same Mobile Safari as the iPhone and iPod touch. Surprisingly, however, Apple’s promotional video and images on their website show the contrary.

As 9to5Mac points out, the iPad demonstration video giving a rundown of its various features shows the device displaying flash content in a website as the person in the video browses around during the demonstration of Mobile Safari. This leaves only two possibilities. Either the iPad in the video has Flash support, or they manipulated the video to hide the fact that Flash doesn’t work on the iPad.

Here it is again, in case you missed it:

AppleInsider discovered that flash content was also being shown running on the iPad in the promotional photos of the device on their website.

It’s one thing not to include Flash, but it’s quite another to try to hide it from potential customers.
