Insurance for iPhone
For most of us, $500 is quite a bit of money to spend on a cell phone, especially when it’s so susceptible to accidental damage. Apple’s AppleCare protection program is great for defects, but accidental damages aren’t covered. If you drop your shiny new iPhone (or smash it with a golf ball), the only way to get a replacement is to pay for it. As it turns out, many local insurance agencies offer protection on such high value objects. State Farms has reportedly been insuring people’s iPhones for as little as $1.25 per month, or $15 a year with no deductible.
Mutual Liberty reportedly has a very similar plans, as well. There have, however, been a few reports that some StateFarm agents will not insure a device under $1000. Others have demanded a $500 flat fee, making the concept useless.
For such a beautiful and expensive phone, insurance is certainly a must. We encourage you to contact your insurance company to see if such a plan can be offered. Let us know in the comments if you have any luck!
