Indie Relief Selling Apps For Haiti On Jan. 20th
By now you probably know about the devastation in Haiti caused by the recent earthquake, and their people’s desperate need for supplies. Celebrities and politicians are doing what they can to encourage citizens to help. Now software developers are jumping on the bandwagon, offering to donate the proceeds of various iPhone and Mac apps sold on Wednesday, January 20th (tomorrow) to aid in the Haiti relief efforts. The project started as a collaboration between developers Garret Murray and Second Gear. Since then, several other developers have signed on, and the list now includes more than 130 different apps for iPhone and Mac.
Participating developers were given the chance to chose the Haiti charity of their choice, and include The Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and UNICEF. Be sure to check out the ever-growing list at incierelief.com. And remember, if you’re in the market to buy any of those apps, Wednesday is the day to do it.
