I Can Haz iPhone G3?

in

Nobody likes accidentally misspelling words, especially if you're a big-time publication. Occasionally one slips past my own spellchecker, despite my best efforts, so I can relate. Yet even I have to wonder how Time managed to pull this one off. Picture after the break.

its done twice tho, either someone is stupid and doesnt know what theyre typing, or.... idk, because it looks like you would just copy and paste it, the way the 3 is lower than the G...

If only Time had exclusive insite into Apples 3rd generation of iPhones.

By the way, I am ready for the speculation and guessing to begin as to when the next iPhone will be coming. Will the iPhone Nano speculation make a return?

iPhone Nano speculation will never end, despite our best efforts. (iPhone nano = iPod touch)

In many fonts, numerals aren't in-line with letters.

But I agree with the article; you'd think someone would have... oh, I don't know, noticed the difference between 3G and G3. Not just because it's an Apple product, but because 3G is a fairly standard term in smartphones; at least that I was aware.

This is typical sloppy journalism. People reporting on things that they don't really know much about. It reminds me of people who mispronounce geographical names such as "Illinois" (incorrectly adding an 's' sound at the end), "Des Moines" (incorrectly adding an 's' sound on one or both words), or "Nevada" (improperly making the 'a' sound like 'ahh' instead of a long 'a').

A week or two ago, some journalists were confusing flash memory with flash display. Basically, journalists are idiots!

I think that's probably what happened. Not that they have insight for the 3rd gen, but maybe the whole generation thing screwed them up. Heck, half the people I know that are going to be getting on call it that. I think it stems from the iPod having five generations. iPod 5G or whatever doesnt have 5G cell network capability obviously.

That being said, did nobody double check this for the creator before it got published...nobody?

Outsourced Journalism.
