Halfbrick Announces Age of Zombies Starring Barry Steakfries…Again!

This morning I received an email from Halfbrick Studio’s (Fruit Ninja, Blast Off, Monster Dash) Phil Larsen which contained details for their newest game that will be coming out next month. The awesome thing is, is that the game is starring the hit Barry Steakfries!

Taking the genre of a dual-stick shooter, Age of Zombies will have you making your way through a total of five worlds packed with a whole ton of zombies, cavemen, mummies, ninjas, and the famous zombie T-Rex.

Here’s the trailer for the game which was released in February (though the game was officially announced today) but shows a considerable amount of gameplay:

Also, here is the copy of the press release that was sent to me with the more specific details:

September 28th, 2010 – From the creators of Fruit Ninja and Monster Dash comes the latest App store adventure for everyone’s favorite hero – Barry Steakfries!

Upon arriving at the laboratory of the evil Professor Brains, Barry discovers a plot to destroy mankind by sending zombies throughout time to wreak havoc! As a pro-shooting kind of guy, Barry rises to the challenge and steps through the portal, determined to save the world and make it home in time for dinner.

Players will blast their way through five unique worlds in this hilarious twin-stick shooter! Featuring zombie cavemen, mummies, ninjas and the legendary Zombie T-Rex, Barry has an action playground just waiting to be explored.

Age of Zombies includes the full story mode spanning five worlds with multiple levels, as well as Survival mode with global leaderboards for high score junkies. Everything has also been improved from the original Playstation Minis version, with updated graphics, new menus and the intuitive touch-specific controls and tutorials. This is the definitive Age of Zombies experience, dressed to impress as a Universal app for both iPhone and iPad.

Age of Zombies will be released in October 2010. For all the latest news and info, visit the official Halfbrick blog at www.halfbrick.com!

Even though the game won’t be out for another month or so, I’m still anticipating the release greatly and have already watched the trailer more than 5 times to satisfy my hunger for the game!
