Google Announces Push Gmail for iPhone Users
Today Google announced on the Gmail Blog that Gmail now supports push email for the iPhone and Windows Mobile devices. The new addition is actually part of the Google Sync service which allows users to sync contacts and calendars from their Google accounts. To receive push Gmail, you’ll need to set up your Google account as a Microsoft Exchange service in your iPhone’s settings. More instructions are available on Google’s help page.
I’ve tried setting up my Gmail account to receive push email with no luck Google may still be in the process of rolling out the service to some accounts. Let us know in the comments if you get it working!
