Dev Team: Official 1.1.3 Jailbreak Coming Soon
Following the leaked 1.1.3 jailbreak there have been many problems, including some bricked phones. NerveGas, from the iPhone Dev Team, commented on the leak and stated an official jailbreak method would come soon. He states that the leaked version violates federal law by including files belonging to Apple. Along with a 1.1.3 jailbreak procedure NerveGas states a 'Mac-friendly tool' will be released.
The method the Dev Team was/is planning on releasing allows you to perform the jailbreak without violating federal law. You can expect a method, followed by a Mac-friendly tool, very soon.
I recommend those who have not yet attempted to upgrade to hold out as the current method is very risky. We will post the official method when it is released.
NerveGas adds that the Dev team had jail broken firmware version 1.1.3 within a day or two of the release though as noted before decided not to release the official method until the SDK so Apple could not destroy the method with their next update.

I don't Understand
If NT's botched release is any indication - one wonders if SDK is a smoke screen for a failure to develop a stable jailbreak?
Please don't get me wrong: I respect the DEV Team. They've collectively done a lot for the i-phone community and are wicked smart people.
Why?
