China Mobile Still In Talks With Apple
Nearly a year after they first announced that they had formally begun negotiations, China Mobile is still in discussions with Apple on a plan to get the iPhone 3G in China. The reason for the lengthy discussion period is still unknown. It was previously suspected to be related to Apple’s demands for revenue sharing.
“Steve Jobs and I hope the iPhone will enter China as soon as possible,” said Wang Jianzhou, China Mobile’s CEO, on the sidelines of the ITU Telecom Asia 2008 exhibition in Bangkok Tuesday. “We are discussing this issue but we do not have an agreement.”
