On Monday, Check Point Software Technologies announced its official support for Apple's iPhone through its VPN-1 product. The product, which acts as a Virtual Private Networking tool, allows users to hold secure Internet connections via the iPhone's Layer 2 Transport Protocol (L2TP) client. iPhone users could then communicate with firms using the VPN-1 software without needing additional software to be installed on their iPhones.
VPN-1 administrators can create specific login credentials for each iPhone users using a shared secret password and certificates for all iPhones on the network.
