After months of development, Brightkite has finally released their iPhone application which interfaces with their location-based social network. The application automatically updates your location as you move, providing a much simpler way of updating your location throughout the day. You can also post notes and photos from a place, as well as see others who are near you.
Below is a video of the Brightkite app in action:
Brightkite is available for free in the App Store. You can sign up for Brightkite here (no invite required).

Whoa!
It's as simple as 1, 2 and 3 if you've never checked into the location or don't have it as a placemark.
1. Open the app.
2. Make sure find me is on and it's located you to the closest intersection.
3. Pick a place, and choose the TGI Fridays from there.
When you hit pick a place, it will list all of the places sorted by proximity. If you have the place setup as a placemark or have previously checked in there before and have place snapping on in the iphone app, then it should automatically snap you to the location.
Do note, the app is only as accurate as the phone allows it to be. We all know the iphones gps (if you have a 3g) can be quirky at times.
