Briefly: iPhone Store Credit Problems

in

Gizmodo has been receiving reports that, when making a purchase with the $100 iPhone store credit, some users get a message stating that there is a $0 balance left on their card. The problem doesn't appear to be an isolated case. Jason Chen of Gizmodo has personally run into this problem and since come up with a solution. If you have this issue, Jason's advice is to reapply for the store credit and use the newly generated number instead.

If you purchased your iPhone between June 29, 2007 and August 21, 2007, you are eligible for a $100 store credit.

Well I ran into a different problem then everyone else. When I bought my iPhoen on the day it came out. I activated it with a new number. I then transfered my old number over. So my serial number was linked to the phone number that at&t had given me. I had that number for only about an hour.

So upon further review of tryign to get my 100 credit it didnt work. So I decided to write them and email explaining my situation. I also then went into the local Apple store and they issued me a 100 gift card.

Well the next day I recieve an email back and now my 100 credit is issued to me.

So my question is can I get into trouble for their mistake? And if not I might as well use both.. haha

Worked fine for me (x3)!

I generated store credits for the three iPhones I bought and took them into the Apple Store to purchase a Mac mini. I had no problems whatsoever.
