Box.net iPhone App Adds New Features, Announces Quickoffice Integration
Box.net, the once cloud-based content storage system, has added several exciting new features to their iPhone app that pushes them closer to being a content management solution. The 2.0 update of Box.net for the iPhone adds the ability to comment and view comments on files and folders with those who have access to them, as well as the ability to preview documents in thumbnail form before opening them.
One of the coolest features that they announced is on the way in a future update is integration with the Quickoffice Connect Mobile Suite, making it possible to edit Word and Excel files living on the Box.net cloud from your iPhone. This would open up a lot of possibilities for business users, and could really change how people use their iPhones for work.
They also released their OpenBox API for integrating Box.net features into third party applications, and now several apps have done just that. You can see the current list (at the time of posting) below:
