Best Idea Ever, On Hold Until October

Introduced at Macworld 2010, FastMac‘s U-Socket was an instant hit, adding two USB charging ports to a standard wall outlet. Considering the number of iDevices I have laying around, U-Socket could easily be installed in several places in my home. Aside from reducing clutter, FastMac claims that the energy efficient design only outputs power when a device is plugged into the USB port, potentially saving you $25 in energy costs. If this claim is accurate, the device pays for itself in a year if you pre-order at the current $19.95 price!

Now for the bad news: U-Socket isn’t schedule to ship until October. (Though that didn’t stop me from pre-ordering a few!)
