AT&T To Offer Contract-Free iPhone 3Gs Starting March 26

Boy Genius Report is claiming to have been given slides from an internal AT&T training presentation that include information stating that they will be offering contract-free iPhone 3Gs to existing customers starting on March 26th. It’s no deal, however, with contract-free models starting at $599 for the 8GB and $699 for the 16GB model.

It is believed that AT&T is offering the devices to only one per current customer in an attempt to limit the number of them that are purchased for unlocking and use on competitors’ networks. However, their ability to enforce this may be limited, as only devices sold at AT&T retail stores are logged in OPUS, their point-of-sale system.
