AT&T Sending Reminders About MMS Rollout To iPhone Customers
AT&T has begun sending text messages to iPhone users notifying them about the launch of MMS support for iPhones starting on Friday September 25. The new service will finally make it possible for iPhone users in the US to send and receive picture messages over the SMS portion of the cell network.
AT&T’s message to users reads:
AT&T Free Msg: Picture & video messaging (MMS) will be available for iPhone on 9/25. While we prepare your account for MMS capability, the current “view my message” experience will be turned off but your ability to send and receive text messages will not be affected.
So far we haven’t been notified ourselves, but we’re guessing that the same message is being sent to everyone.
