AT&T 3G Network Upgrades Weakening EDGE Network
AT&T’s push to strengthen and expand their 3G network in the U.S. has caused their EDGE network to suffer, according to a report by Open for Business. The news isn’t surprising, given that much of the improvements were made by switching their EDGE transmitters over to 3G.
However, those of you still using the first generation of iPhone might find this to be problematic. AT&T continues to sell 2G devices, although the original iPhone is not one of them. Users of 2G devices are reporting weaker signals in areas that previously had strong EDGE access.
