AT&T Apparently Testing iPhone MMS Features in Washington State

Per The Apple Core, AT&T has apparently begun testing MMS features in Washington state. Following up on this, two Daring Fireball readers tweeted that iPhone MMS support is working in Seattle.

Following up on this, AT&T Mobility’s Executive Director Media Relations responded that “We have not yet offered MMS on the iPhone. We plan to do so toward the end of September.”

End of September? WTF?! They better have it by the 22nd or it's not technically summer any more.

No MMS?

Not only is it not summer anymore but by now we all should be aware that AT&T has been playing out of their league - playing catchup - selling a 21st century phone on a 20th century network and never will erase the blotch they have made so far. I am on the first boat to Varizonville when it gets here. I can't believe it: no tethering, no MMS! And the premium data plan!!! What's premium about the overcharging? Are we tired of this yet?

I never knew what the premium data plan was for. What's it for?

And I guess I'm alone on this but I actually like AT&T. I'm pissed about the MMS thing but I could care less if AT&T ever offers tethering because I'm not paying extra to use my limited data on another device. Our "unlimited" data plan has a 5GB cap, so it would be different if we really did have unlimited data or got a bigger cap for paying for tethering. And aside from that, MyWi is just so much more convenient than official tethering. Because of all this, I'm never gonna pay for tethering anyway.
