Apple’s Tablet Spotted in Web Stats, Running iPhone OS 3.2?
Mobile analytics firm Flurry claims to have identified as many as 50 test units in use at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The information was derived from data pulled from the applications that run their analytics platform, which can tell things like OS version, geographical location and the device it’s being run on. Some of that data is showing iPhone apps being run on the still-unreleased iPhone OS 3.2 software (instead of OS 4.0, strangely) on about 50 devices showing up at Apple HQ.
Flurry tracked about 200 applications being installed onto these mystery devices. They say they’ve seen these devices being tested since “as early as October of last year.” Even more interesting is that the majority of the applications they’ve been testing have been games, confirming what we’ve heard about it having a gaming emphasis.
