Apple To Launch 3G iPhone in June?
An analyst with Bank of America predicts that the 3G iPhone will begin shipping this June. AT&T has already announced that they would be launching an iPhone capable of 3G speeds in 2008, but has otherwise not specified an exact date for the device's debut.

He also estimates that the producton volume will be around 3 million units by May, to be followed by another 8 million in the third quarter of the year, surpassing Gartner's estimates of 10 million.
In an unrelated analysis, Avi Greengart of Current Analysis predicts that the timing of the 3G iPhone's release will coencide with that of iPhone firmware version 2.0, which will add the ability to download and install Apple-sanctioned third party applications, and of which registered iPhone developers are using the beta version of to write their apps with the SDK.
