Apple Store, Best Buy Advertising Black Friday Deals

Black Friday is the only day of the year when Apple offers discounted products storewide – some in black, others in white, many in silver. The tradition continues for November 25, 2011.

No need to get aimlessly lost in long lines of deal-crazed buyers hell-bent on receiving products at the cheapest prices possible, discounts will be offered online as well as in retail stores. However, there are typically no door-busters and historically discounts have not been significant.

During last year’s sales day, Apple has taken up to $101 off of their Mac lineup. The iPad was offered for up to $41 off and the iPhone was not discounted at all. We will be on the look-out for iPhone deals, there is bound to be at least one retailer or carrier-specific sale.

Apple is advertising Black Friday as a:

“special one-day Apple shopping event. This Friday, November 25.

Mark your calendar now, and come back to the Apple Online Store for the special one-day event. You’ll discover amazing iPad, iPod and Mac gifts for everyone on your list.”

Truth be told, discounts available through employee purchase and education programs have been similar or superior to deals offered on the year’s busiest shopping day.

Certainly, better deals could be found at other retailers. Best Buy will be offering:

  • $150 MacBook Pro Savings
  • $150 iMac savings
  • $10 Apple TV savings
  • $45 iPad 2 Savings
  • $20 iTunes gift card savings ($100 gift card for $80)
