Apple Says Sorry For MobileMe Trouble, Offers 30-day Free Extension

People were having a difficult time accessing MobileMe when it first launched, and Apple seemed to be having a difficult time getting things working. Now they have sent out an email admitting that the transition was not as smooth as they had hoped. They have also run into some trouble by saying that it used "push" technology, which they also clarify.
One of the things they note was that while everything else went smoothly, many users were experiencing problems with the web apps, as we noticed. They also clarify that, while changes made on the iPhone and on Me.com are pushed between the two devices, changes only get to and from your Mac or PC every 15 minutes. Therefore, they say they will no longer be using the term "push" until they can get changes instantly made between your computer as well.
As an apology, they they are giving a free 30-day membership extension to to anyone who was a .Mac member with an active acount that started July 9, 2008, and for new accounts created on or before July 15, 7:00 PM PDT.

You can find more details on eligibility here.
Thanks for the tip, Peter!

I found the story on Macdailynews.com. It was enough frustration that a month isn't overly generous. Also, it seems to be the same inept team as the dotmac team, unfortunately. The Apple dotmac to mobileme discussion forum has been full of confusion and frustration.
