Apple Releases Three Utilities For Enterprise Users For Managing Multiple iPhones

Apple has released three new utilities to help users deploy and manage large numbers of iPhones at the same time for enterprise users. They are the iPhone Configuration Web Utility 1.0 for Mac, the iPhone Configuration Web Utility 1.0 for Windows, and the iPhone Configuration Utility 1.0 for Mac OS X. These tools allow one person to create a single configuration file that can be downloaded from a website or email that can be downloaded onto multiple iPhones.

Once downloaded, the file can configure a multitude of settings on the device, including “device security policies, VPN configuration information, Wi-Fi settings, APN settings, Exchange account settings, mail settings, and certificates that permit iPhone and iPod touch to work with your enterprise systems.”

the iPhone COnfiguration Web Utility (Mac, Windows) lets you create this config file (XML), while the Mac-only iPhone Config Utility lets you create config files and access logs, and makes it possible to install apps on the iPhones.
