Apple Posts iPhone 3G S Launch Day Store Hours

Apple has posted details for the iPhone 3G S launch on June 19th. According to their site, many locations will be opening at 8AM local time, though not all. You can check launch-day details for your Apple Store of choice by going to Apple.com/retail. (Of course, if you plan on camping out, this might not be important to you.)

Buy it from an AT&T store instead...

I bought the first generation iPhone at an Apple Store and had to wait in line for hours.

When the 3G came out, I just pre-ordered it from my local AT&T store. The day they were released, I walked right by the hundreds of people in line at the Apple store on my way to the AT&T store. They had my phone right there waiting for me and 10 minutes later I was up and running with my new 3G iPhone.

I did the same thing this time around. I just ordered my new 3G S when Apple announced them at the same AT&T store. They told me it will be ready for pick up this Friday with no need to stand in line for hours hoping to get one at the Apple store.

I do love going to the Apple store but I hate standing in lines.

Ready for pick up THIS Friday? I think you meant NEXT Friday, the 19th, right? I pre-ordered on-line, too. But I chose to have it mailed to me same day and avoid the stores all together.

Why bother, I have a 3G -- AT&T is deliberately locking loyal iPhone users out of the party. I have to wait 1 year 8 months...a guy I work with got his 6 weeks ago, he has to wait longer to get the 3Gs upgrade.

Unless you want to pay the full price (an arm AND a leg).

Honestly, I was pissed at first that we don't qualify for subsidized price. But then I thought about it and heard some news peoples points, No one who owns any other phone gets cheaper pricing when a new model of the phone they own comes out. If AT&T did this for us again they would 1. lose lots of money, and 2. possibly get sued by people because they don't get the new model (for example) blackberry or blackjack at the cheaper price. It is a business.
