Apple Posts Instructions On Upgrading From A 1st Gen To iPhone 3G

Apple has posted more information on the process of upgrading from an original iPhone to the new 3G model. They have posted a new support document titled “How to replace an original iPhone with an iPhone 3G” that explains the process of how to do the upgrade if you’re keeping the same carrier. The document lists 6 basic (but noteworthy) steps to make sure that all of your information is ported from your old iPhone to your new one.

From the document:

“If you follow these steps to backup your original iPhone first, and then restore the backup to your iPhone 3G, your saved SMS messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings will be present on your iPhone 3G.”

You can find the document on support.apple.com.
