KT Freetel, South Korea's second largest mobile phone service provider, announced on Friday that it is in negotiations with Apple to become the South Korean iPhone carrier, according to CNN Money. Similar to the AT&T contract in the US, the contract would make KT Freetel the exclusive carrier in South Korea. Apple is currently still in negotiations with several carriers overseas to bring the iPhone to Europe before the end of 2007. Reportedly, Apple plans to bring the iPhone to Asia in 2008. Apple has not yet commented on any progress.
