Apple In Talks With China Mobile

So, we've heard iPhone rumors from the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, and France, but this is the first for China. The world's largest phone carrier covering around 350 million customers, China Mobile, is currently in talks with Apple on bringing the iPhone to China. However, with the situation being as it is, there is speculation that it might be difficult for Apple to maintain the revenue sharing as with other carriers.

There does seem to be certain amount of demand for the product in China. As China Mobile's CEO, Wang Jianzhou, explained, "Our customers like this kind of fashionable product."

The problem is that China Mobile has some problems with Apple's revenue-shairing model, which gives Apple a piece of the subscription fees for a given period of time in addition to the handset sales. Said Wang: "We still think we can maintain the operator-centric model because we have the customers."
