Apple Closes 5th Avenue Store To Film 3G iPhone Ad? [Updated]

in

Apple's flagship 5th Avenue Store is closing their doors from 3:30PM to for what employees claim was the filming of a new Apple ad. To date, the 5th Avenue Store has been closed only twice in it's history: the launch of Mac OS X Leopard, and the launch of the iPhone. Sources close to the situation are saying that it's a commercial for the new 3G iPhone.

The notice on Apple's retail page reads:

Please note we will be temporarily closed Thursday, May 29 at 3:00 p.m. and will reopen Friday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m. During this time, please visit one of our other two Manhattan locations.

Update:

Crews have begun setting up lights and filming will likely begin soon.
