Apple Blocking Jailbreakers From The App Store?

Apple may be taking their fight against jailbreaking to a new level, banning the AppleID of hackers who have played key roles in the efforts of the jailbreaking community. Sherif Hashim and iH8sn0w, who individuals who recently found exploits for jailbreaking, are both saying that they can no longer access the App Store, and trying prompts a message saying their Apple ID has been “disabled for security reasons.”

This is a pretty scary for supporters of the jailbreak community. Apple is clearly trying to send a message with this. What we aren’t sure about is if they’re blocking them because they can see the exploit on the device or if they just know that those Apple IDs are associated with two people who have help find exploits for jailbreakers. Of course, there is a chance that it could be caused by a glitch resulting from one of the jailbreaks. We’re not really sure what’s going on, but it’s interesting.

We know one thing though, and that is that if Apple were to do block all jailbroken devices, it would be terrible PR, but it also might help stop rising App piracy. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

Our fingers are crossed on this one.
